how many here work nightshift and switch back and forth on your days off?
i've been doing that for about 2 years now and i sometimes wonder what the long term effect might be. it's been really rough at times.

From all of the web based info I've found changing shifts is not a good practice since it can be harder on the individual getting use to the changes than getting use to the goofy hours/schedule.
I work graveyards at a hospital where they don't rotate shifts and everybody is pretty okay with it. -

Thanks for chiming in, I pretty much figured the tribe was dead.
With some luck, I'll shortly be off graveyard shift. I put in a transfer to a different dept to get off graves. After 3 years of it, I've
had enough. Within a month or so I should be a human being again !!! -

Re: nightshift question
Fri, May 5, 2006 - 1:45 PMOn behalf of all the members of the armed forces, police and fire departments, medical emergency responders and the healthcare community in general, not to mention the folks keeping the electrical power plants running so we can tribe at all hours, we deeply appreciate not being humans any longer ~ thank you.
And good luck with that *human* stuff.

( I really do acknowledge that shift work isn't for everybody, but couldn't resist - sorry. ) -
